AB,  just had the idea that  one of those suture needles in a swivel knife type holder would let you 'flow' the hair lines very well.  The triangular cutting surface would be below and behind the swivel point so some nice curves could be made quite easily.

God bless

Thank you for idea!

Recently, a lot of things have piled up ... But still, I managed to devote time to my hobby and finish coloring this work.DSC_1375.JPG

EVERY BIT as nice as I had expected.  You really picked up the hair texture here ... this looks great!

Thank you, Jeff!

In addition to hair, I had to seriously to work on ears - after all, a lioness’s ear rises 3/4 inches above the mane of a lion.

If I didn't know better no one could convince me that that was a piece of leather. Simply outstanding.

Man, that is amazing!  Your carving is fantastic.  The coloring really brought it to life!  As good as any leatherwork I've ever seen.

Amazing. Just out of curiosity. What weight leather did you use.

Thank you.

4 oz for the carved area and a stack of leather 8 oz x 5 layers (or 10 oz x 4 layers, I don’t remember exactly :) ) for the embossing insert.

Thx for the info. I figured the emboss had to be fairly thick to get that kind of depth
