Deer hide

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I bought a deer hide. When I was at tannery I was impressed and I had few ideas what to do with that. Now, I'm struggling and I have no project in my mind. What do you from deer hide?
I'm thinking about the bullet hole in the hide. It is creepy to use it as some detail in a project, isn't it?

The usefulness of deer hide will depend on the tanning method(s) used. Most deer hide is relatively thin, typically soft and pliable. Best uses I can think of would be clothing or small personal items (handbags, pouches, or similar).

Personally, I would avoid showing the bullet hole in the hide in a finished product.

Gloves as well.

Liner might stretch and create wrinkles, which would rub you sores.
