Jebrand Report post Posted January 16, 2020 Hello, I have a question . I have a New Jacaru kangaroo leather hat. I need to stiffen the crown of the hat as it sags. Will the water method work by soaking it cold water then soaking It a few minute later in 170 degree water? also I plan to use cardboard to form and shape the crown as it dries. I have a hat stretcher that would use inside to insure the brim stays in shape the leather is already dark so I do t expect it to discolor much. I just plan on dipping the crown in the water.
