Roller Press?

Recommended Posts

I am building a weight-lifting belt and need to bind two pieces of 10 oz veg in the middle and suede on both the inside and outside of the belt.  Ideally, I would like to run the belt through a roller press after applying adhesives.  Unfortunately I'm not seeing much in the way of machinery to do this.  Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks!

You might consider using a brayer, a hard rubber roller that print makers use to spread ink. I use one to smooth out leather that I have applied adhesive to... works great. You can find a wide selection of them on Amazon.

Put a blanket smoothly on top and bottom and run over it with your car.

I lean hard on a metal pastry rolling pin for this kind of thing. Picked it up for about $5.00 in the housewares section of a local supermarket.

H;i Grandma's old washing mangle will work, so will an old wringer washer, rare now a days but can be found.  Worked in a leather goods shop and that what was in use. Worked very well.

Good Luck Layo

Not sure what  part of the world you are in

@MT Flyrod You appear to be in Missoula Montana area according to your IP address.  It is a good idea to add your approximate location to your profile so you can get answers that are more appropriate for your area of the Solar System.
