Haha thank y’all! I like the simplicity In a belt.

The K.I.S.S method often works... I like a nicely tooled belt just as much as a "keep it simple... stupid" style such as this. I like the small details like the dark edge and creases and think that they add a bit of class.

This is one of my favorite color combinations in a belt.

Looks really good.   As stated above sometimes simple is as nice as, and harder than fancy.   Every flaw shows on simple.

How wide is that belt?

It’s 1-3/4” and tapers to 1”

edit:  I meant that the billets were 1”. I have tapered belts on my mind today

Thanks for the info!   I have yet to make a ranger belt, but it's on my mind to try one.  Again, love it!

Nice work. I've always preferred ranger style belts. More work to make one but worth it.

They’re not much more work. Just a little more material.  I never wore one until about 5 or 6 years ago, but I really like them. I’ve repaired about 2 dozen from local law enforcement though. Those take a beating.

Nice work, nice stitching on the badge holder. I recently made one for my old boss for when he works plain clothes and VIP details. Did you use clip on back or a belt slots for retention?

I used a clip. I can’t remember what size I have, off hand

Thank you. Those are made with a stitching groover.

Very nice work.  Love the stitching.  Did you do it by hand?

Excellent work! What is purpose of the larger keeper strap? Is it machine stitched?

I can't answer about the stitching but having worn one of these for nearly 25 years I can about the keeper. The larger keeper is to hold the end of the main belt body in place so the thinner "front" belt portion can be buckled.

That’s right, it’s to hold the main belt together. I machine stitched it on a cobra 4. It’s been a while since I’ve hand stitched a belt.

also, thank you for the kind words

This one got past me - musta been busy that day.  Anyway - this is a NICE belt!

Untitled-1.jpgGood lookin' leather is a must first step, but I'm a booger for CONSISTENT stitchin' - seriously, irregularity is like fingernails on a chalk board.  With practice, you could be as OCD as me  Really, other folk could take note here ...

Lookin' CLOSE, I don't think the stitchin' is FLAWLESS, but it's QUITE nice.  I particularly like the way you've "balanced" the backstitch on the billets ... [ for those don't know what i'm on about, note the same double stitching on the start and stop of the billet threads - if you do it, many won't notice, but if you DONT do it, sticks out like a sore thumb ]

I still punch a slot in the main belt to push the billet through on the buckle end - personal preference, though I understand there are arguments to be made for both ways.

Again ~~  NICE BELT.
