Brook's saddle stained with sodium bicarbonate

Recommended Posts

Guest Laurence

Hello,

I washed the metal parts of my brooks saddle with sodium bicarbonate and water and it stained my saddle... Do you know if I can try something to help it become beautiful again

You can try oxalic acid mixed 1 teaspoon crystals to 1 pint of water.  Available at paint stores and also under a brand name Bar Keepers Friend (the powdered version contains abrasives).  Oxalic acid is used to bleach stains out of leather and wood.

Try it in an inconspicuous spot before you decide on a larger area.
