How to paint initials on leather so neatly? (louis vuitton, etc)

Hi all, this is a very elementary question but I am seeing a lot of “customizer artists” paint initials on leather bags and am wondering how they get it so neat without stencils? 

Can anyone give me insight into the process?

I believe the likes of Louis Vuitton uses a heat embossing method. A special metal foil is used and the letter stamp is heated and pressed into the leather with the metal foil between the stamp and leather. Then the part of the metal foil not used is peeled away leaving just the letter foiled.

Heat embossing or screen printing.  And for LV specifically it's possibly some proprietary method used only by/for them.  The whole point of the LV surface (which is basically a glorified plasticised canvas) is to make is as difficult as possible to copy, so they might have also used the most complex printing method.  Anything to be even slightly different and visually distinguishable.

painting Initials without stencils takes practiceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....... A ton of it. Start with basic calligraphy on regular paper then advance to script liner brushes on smooth surfaces. then you can use regular acrylic paints  on leather.  Many books on the subject it is a very old form of art.

Or you can try printing out your font then case your leather as you would to tool it, use a stylus to outline your font lightly onto the leather then either emboss it and paint it or just paint it without embossing.
