Members Vikefan Posted January 2, 2021 Members Report Posted January 2, 2021 Here's my interpretation of the Holster John Wayne wore in many of his westerns, and especially the one he wore in El Dorado. Please, take a look and let me know what you think.. I'm a bit dis-satisfied with the the way the stitching came out on the main seam. I had to re- profile the Strap across the front as on one picture you can see it was way too big (third Picture), so I cut it down top and bottom. I used stitching chisels and this is hand-stitched. Thank you Quote
Members glider Posted January 4, 2021 Members Report Posted January 4, 2021 nice holster, I would be proud of it . Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted January 4, 2021 Contributing Member Report Posted January 4, 2021 Looks pretty good, I think. Those little "boogers" in teh stitching are only that loud because of the contrasting stitch color. Use a brown thread and that's a LOT less conspicuous. Quote
Members Vikefan Posted January 6, 2021 Author Members Report Posted January 6, 2021 Yeah, I am not crazy about the main seam.. off stitches.. And I used off white thread... I have modified my pattern for this holster... Quote
Members Bert03241 Posted January 28, 2021 Members Report Posted January 28, 2021 Nice Holster and personally I like the contrasting stitching. I'm going to try different color threads in my Knife sheaths. Quote
