Tom Threepersons holster.

Recommended Posts

I am building Tom Threepersons holster from the Will Ghormley 1911 100th anniversary holster pack.  His pattern does not include a safety strap. The Pictures I have seen of the early holsters do not have a safety strap, but all the ones I see available to day do. so my question is Should I put a strap on it or not?

I see that as a personal choice

Do you want an 'historically' accurate holster? or a holster with a modern safety feature?

If the holster fits properly then a strap is not as necessary. I have found that most people wanting a holster these days want a strap. It makes them feel better I guess.

I myself like to build historically accurate holsters and prefer not to put the straps on them but realize that many customers may want the strap.
