a stick a bone and a piece of leather

Recommended Posts

Made this/these  for my daughters birthday, she loves to draw. I turned the pencils also. The sunburst went south on me when i added the super sheen, it took alot of the dark color off and made streaks. My attempt to fix it by spraying a mixture of super sheen and bison brown dye helped some by covering the worst of the streaks and allows me to say its a custom finish lol if you try this as a fix be aware its puddles as you can see. Not perfect by any means. Some pig skin for the liner.

What are things dogs love to chew?

Sorry couldn't resist.

That is a gift that I am sure she will cherish forever.  I know I would.

Chuck, super cool gift.  Nice job as always on the leather work. Sorry about the problems you had with the sunburst, that seems to happen on the most important projects, but then again that is how we learn.  Your recovery is spot on, as I wouldn't have known you had an issue with it if you hadn't brought it up. Love the choice of wood for the pencils, as it pairs nicely with the case. Also, I didn't know that leather working and wood working was "redneck stuff"... Guess I'm a redneck too.

First thank you for the nice compliments. Oh heck yea along with your Coleman lanterns and stoves,  I've got a few myself and use them, converted one to kerosene last year.
