what to use to seal veggie leather

Recommended Posts

Lots of prayer . . .

Resolene actually doesn't change the color of dyed pieces "a lot" but there is a minor change.

Some folks swear that Mop N Glo is as good as well.

They would be the first ones I'd try . . . but it depends on what you are going to do with it afterwards . . . or what kind of product it is.  You didn't say that.

May God bless,

Dwight

Almost everything put on leather will change the color.  That's the cost of sealing.  M&G doesn't do much though.  Slightly darker and shinier.

That´s the beauty of natural leather, it slowly changes colour....20210413_104138.thumb.jpg.fea0ffe851180c87daf53a140e6eef9d.jpg

k so veggie leather will darkern on is own with time even if not dyed or that?

Yep...in the picture that is the same leather after about 1-2 years later. If you leave it out in the sun it will darken quicker! This is natural Horse leather in the picture.

In all the years I have done this, I have never used those plastic finishes, or had dye transfer, with the exception of black. And even that has been minimal.
