Landis three tight turns

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone I have a problem that I can’t fix.
I am making dog collars for a bunch of friends. They are about 1 inch wide on the ends. Then I go to stitch the end I need to make a 90 degree turn. When I do this either the stitch skips or it makes a big loop underneath like the tension is off. If some one could shoot a video or explain to me how to make a 90 degree stitch in a Landis 3 that would be great. Thanks.

Have you tried stopping the machine so the awl is still buried while the pressor foot is just off the leather. At that point you should be able to turn the leather 90 degrees and continue sewing.

you may also be able to let the needle come up, catch the loop, then turn before the loop is pulled back down to the shuttle. Pressor foot should be free and loose at this point
