Where can I find Cobbler supplies / Tools

Recommended Posts

I'm going to resole some boots and try my hand at making some shoes but I haven't found a good supplier after many google searches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess it depends a bit on where in the world you are situated?

These two came up from Googling shoe repair supplies USA.

I was actually searching for a different supplier that I once visited. That place looked like it stocked EVERYTHING you would ever need for repairing or making shoes. But I forgot the name of the place.

Panhandle Leather in Amarillo used to carry some of that stuff.  They may still.  Website's www.PanhandleLeather.com

They DO still carry a bunch of boot stuff--here's a direct link to it on their website  https://www.panhandleleather.com/collections/boot-supplies

Thanks for the help. I guess my searching skills aren't worth a dang.

You might also try Lisa Sorrell @ https://sorrellnotionsandfindings.com/   She is a custom boot maker, and used to be a sponsor here on LWN, but i haven't noticed lately if that is still the case or not.  She has a variety of tools, leather, lasts, and other supplies.

The wholesale side of the business is generally listed under Shoe Findings, being that findings are the bits and bobs repairmen need. There used to be an organization called the Shoe Service Institute of America (SSIA) but they evolved to serve the retail shoe market instead of repairmen.

I can strongly recommend the monthly magazine "Shop Talk!" which puts out a fantastic annual volume of suppliers. Its pretty cheap to at $29 USD a year. (Last time I checked.)
