A Simple Black Fork Bag

Recommended Posts

I just finished this for my brother. It's the first piece I completed worth sharing.

It's made from 5/6 oz. veg tan and dyed with Fiebing's USMC Black. I used mink oil and Resolene to finish. The gussets and straps were saddle stitched.

I intentionally left the edges unfinished. That stark raw edge and black had a certain appeal to me on this bag.

I owe a lot of you regulars here a big thank you for all the tips on hand-stitching and dyeing. I'm constantly reading and trying new techniques.

Here are pics, feel free to add comments on construction, finish, etc.
