I recently purchased the size 4 grommet hand setting tool from Gold Star Tool. I'm trying to set grommets (CS Osborne brand) that I purchased from another company. I'm having NO success at all. I've watched numerous on-line tutorials and demonstrations. No matter what I do, I cannot set these grommets properly. Similarly, I'm also unable to set them with the press machine and die set that I also purchased from Gold Star. My question is this: Are the tools from Gold Star incompatible with grommets, rivets, and snaps purchased elsewhere? I have no problem at all setting snaps with my press machine, but the snaps were purchased from Gold Star. I know many of you use Gold Star, as I found out about them through this forum. Any insight would be appreciated.
