  1. Howdy and hello! I'm an apprentice blacksmith form Utterson, Ontario. My interest in leatherworking came from playing a game called Belegarth and seeing leather armour. We had a customer come in to the forge some time ago asking about a chandelier. He wanted leather and rawhide incorporated into the design. Neither myself or my boss had used leather with metal work before so we were quite excited about the idea. Yesterday we visited Tandy Leather Factory in Barrie, and I picked up some books on the subject. I was blown away by that store. So here I am. I'm excited to learn more and start the project!
  2. Hi, All! I'm glad I found this forum! I will be making lampshades out of rawhide for a chandelier we will be making. I was thinking of wrapping it around a pvc pipe that I can collapse when it dries, but this is only a theory. I've not done this before. Will this work? If you could give me some tips and guidance in how to go about this that would be awesome. I've got information on how long to soak it and how to cut it, but nothing on how to form it how I need it. I'll post some pictures when its done. Thank you!
