  1. First post! Nice to be here... Seems like a nice forum. That said, I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I bought a pair of out-of-production boots and in my ignorance screwed one of them up in an effort to clean them. Here's a stock photo of the boots: They're a flat, smooth, typical boot-leather, but when I got them (used) they were a little dirty so I bought a suede cleaner kit with a brissel brush and "eraser" and proceeded to clean it TOO much apparently, and now thanks to overly aggressive brushing over most of one boot there is now a raised napp sort of like suede, but not in a good way. My question is, is there some way to repair this and get it flat and smooth like it was before I messed it up? If not, what do you think about using some sort of leather conditioner oil on it (like mink oil?) to at least "comb it down" and make all the color more uniform (albeit darker)? I know these questions are probably laughable, but it kills me that I finally scored a pair of these hard-to-find boots and I promptly screw them up, so I really want to do what I can to make them presentable again. Thanks in advance for any and all guidance on this one! -Rob
