IS it possible to wet mold veg-tan leather if it has been dyed using Fiebings dye?

I have a project that needs to be dyed, but also needs to be wet molded. I want to dye the leather before assembly, but the wet molding piece really needs to be molded once the leather pieces have been sewn together.

Unless it's a water-based dye... I can't imagine it not working.

The only thing that really comes to mine is still using the same idea that oils needed to be added back in before/after dyeing. Maybe that can be done after the molding process, since you'll be getting it wet after dyeing, you still need to worry about the surface of the leather becoming brittle and cracking.

It's possible I am missing something procedural, so take what I say with a grain of salt...
