  • How did you find leatherworker.net?
    I searched for it myself.
  1. just curious if any of you have made your own leather out of cow or buffalo hide. If so what kind of tanning process did you use? how did you break down the grains and get a soft tan. Is there a different way to do it if you are trying to make tooling leather, what machines and or tools do you need for this process. I have the know how to make rawhide, but when it comes to leather I am not sure which way to go about it. I have been researching it for a few months, and still have a large lack in confidence to go at it myself. Figured if there were more experienced tanners here on the board I may learn a lick or two from them verses trial and most likely a lot more error if I just went out and did it myself. Many thanks.
