I want to make an Indiana Jones style travel/day bag with left outside pocket for balloons and right outside pocket for Large water bottle. front of strap will be wide enough for cell phone, passport and pens/sharpies. What weight leather might you suggest? Thought about using a pre finished hid...e, got nice black one in a recent Tandy sale but thought it might be too light and cannot carve it. also thought about glueing parts of it instead of stiching, especialy in tight courners.
