Problem With Brand New Adler 205-370

Hello All, I'm new to this forum, and would like to seek some help/guidance from other Adler 205-370. Earlier this year, I purchased one of the last new 205-370 available from Michel Simard in Montreal. From the very beginning, I've had issues with the stitch-length, or should I say the symmetry of the stitch-length in forward vs reverse. I was told it was normal that the machine would not back-stitch in its holes, when adjusting the rotating knob on the lever. To ensure same stitch-length i
