First Round of Tooling
This is after the first night of tooling. I have placed the hardware in its prospective locations (to be duplicated on the left as well.)
I have a feeling I might be doing my casing wrong. Not often enough or not enough water... or Im just not striking hard enough on my tools. I did notice that the tool marks darkened slightly over night. I am thinking about adding a subtle dye to help the designs pop (or more tooling, but I don't want to overwork it and ruin it.) I'm probably going to avoid paint because I don't want to cover up the leather, just accent it.
Still have to seal the finished pieces, glue on the backing, punch the holes and add the hardware.
