Members LloydtownLeather Posted February 18, 2013 Report Thanks - it is done by using an Eco-Flo hi-lite over their professional dye. The tricky part is the finish. Any water touching the hi-lite after it has dryed will wipe it right off or leave obvious spots. The only fishish that will work with this that I have found is Resolene, and it must be applied very quickly with minimal friction (i.e. lay it on with one quick wipe, or the dye job will be ruined.) I have yet to try spraying it on, but that might be better. Quote
Members philarryous Posted February 27, 2013 Report , i like that effect....leather sheen works very well to help seal, then you can use any sealer coat over it.. i tride it and works for me..or you can then hit it with the spray sealer for saddles called saddle lac from Tandy leather, which leaves a nice gloss shine. use in a well ventelated place though, great job on all of your leather work..cheers Quote
Members LloydtownLeather Posted February 28, 2013 Report Thanks, Phil. It is the super sheen that gave me the most grief. Or did you mean use Resolene over super sheen? You don't find that the saddle lac cracks if flexed? Quote
