Checkbook cover for my sister - front

This was my first checkbook cover. I kinda guessed on the fit and it worked out pretty well.

I started out with 6 oz leather for the main part and cut it 6.5" wide and 7.125 tall.

each flap was 6.5" wide and 3" tall using 3 oz leather

the stitching was 1/8" from the edge.

i used clear olive oil, eco-flo oil dye (color: Wheat) and sealed with super sheen

i choose the front because my sister, brother-in-law and nephew are all avid deer hunters.

yes i know the stamping is not perfect on the front border, but now i know to start in the corners and finish in the center.... live and learn!

Thanks for looking!
