Black Dye over Tandy's 'Block Out Resist Finish'

I have Tandy's 'Block Out Resist Finish' that I use on lettering ( 2 coats) but it does not seem to work very well with Tandy's Eco-Flo Black dye, however, I like the effect with the lighter color dyes.

Does anyone have any other methods/solutions to resisting the black dye on the lettering? Also, does the 'resist' have to dry overnight or can you dye over it after hour or two indoors at 68 degrees?

I'd let it dry overnight, but really,what I've ended up doing is use a paintbrush to dye around the thing I don't want blackened. You'll get better coverage with EcoFlo black if you put an underlayer of blue down first, I find.

You can get it at craft stores... Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc in large bottles. Small bottles can be found at Walmart, even.

It dries within minutes, and works well with just one coat against hi-liters and antiques. Against a solid dye, I would suggest two coats.
