Hi everyone, I was recently recommended a post bed machine from China: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/QK-901H-single-needle-direct-drive_1601024796540.html he said he loves the machine, and it performs well. It got me looking at other machines on Alibaba, and I came across this one:https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/HK-810-820-Single-Needle-double_62375246927.html which looks like a Techsew 810, and is much cheaper. I am sure the first one is much more robust, but I am wondering if the second one is good enough. I am getting into shoemaking, and the Chinese patcher just isn’t making the cut ,so I am looking to upgrade. Unfortunately, I don’t have $2-3000 to spend on a brand name machine, so I am looking at Chinese ones. My question is whether anyone has experience with Honkon, and their general recommendations for a Chinese post bed. It seems like the Techsew 810 can do shoe leather, but is it strong enough for boots? Is the Honkon likely to be as robust as the Techsew? All information and other recommendations welcome. Hi everyone, I am getting into leather shoe making and I am drawn to the Seiko tf-6 (or similar models). Unfortunately it doesn't look like I am able to source one easily from where I am (Calgary, AB, Canada). I know that the Singer 18 is similar, but I was wondering if there are any other similar machines that people could recommend? Thank you!

Hi all, I’ve been reading the forums for a while now, but I am a first time poster. I have recently got into making sneakers and I am looking to get a used sewing machine to make the process faster. I am in Calgary Alberta, Canada, and I am hoping to find a machine for a reasonable price if possible (since everything I see on Facebook/Kijiji is >$1500. It would be great if anyone was selling a machine that might be able to help, or could point me in the right direction for where to look. Thanks in advance!
