I do baseball glove restoration and often have to replace the binding leather. The binding leather needs to be about 1-1/2 to 2 oz. I have a very hard time finding the right leather in the right weight. I can get the right leather but I do not have the equipment to efficiently and reliably cut it down to that thickness. The material is approximately 1-1/2 to 2” wide. I wanted to see if there is anyone that can split it down to that thickness in the Houston area.

Thanks @Northmount I feel stupid that it was such a simple fix but am glad it wasn’t as complicated as I thought.

I just bought a Consew 227R clone and the machine seems to sew pretty well but when you stop a stitch and try to pull the material out there is are two extra pieces of thread coming up through the dog plate. These are from an extra wrap of the top thread around the bobbin but I cannot figure out what is causing it. I have checked all of the bobbin timing and it all seems good but the manual refers to setting the relationship between the hook and hook thread separate bracket (which I think is the bobbin latch opening). I am wondering INV if this could be causing the issue but I have looked at the manual and cannot figure out how make this adjustment. Anyone have any insight on this?
