  1. Regarding the smell — it’s also important to note that burnt leather residue stays on the grid itself. That’s actually what causes the unpleasant odor even after the job is done, when there’s no visible smoke inside. The smoke does get vented out, but you can’t really clean the grid every single day — well, at least I’m too lazy to do that 😅. Compared to materials like paper, cardboard, or plywood, leather definitely has a much stronger smell. I guess to avoid that burnt-leather scent completely, you’d need a powerful CO₂ laser 😁
  2. Thank you! Putting the camera inside the laser engraver was actually fun 😁 About the file formats — I make my patterns in two versions: for laser engravers and for cutting machines — SVG and DXF. But I asked ChatGPT, and here’s what it replied. For anyone interested: the xTool Creative Space app supports direct import of SVG, DXF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, and BMP files. However, formats like .step or other 3D files need to be converted first (for example, into SVG or DXF). Regarding the smell — thank you for mentioning that. It doesn’t bother me much since my laser engraver is in a separate room with a door that opens directly outside, so it’s easy to air out. I talked about this in the video because I don’t really like how in the promotional videos they say there’s no smell at all since the machine is “fully enclosed.” That’s not true. There is a smell, especially when engraving leather. And about connecting a hose and sticking it out the window — that always makes me laugh. The smoke will just come right back in through the same window. Not the most honest marketing in my opinion — people should know this before buying.
  3. Hey friends! 👋 I finally filmed a video about the XTOOL M1 (10W) laser engraver that I bought 10 months ago. If you're thinking about getting one, this review might be helpful for you. Enjoy watching! 🎥👜
  4. Thank you! I wish every CO2 laser came with a big leather workshop as a free gift! 😂 My workspace is really small, so there’s not much room for something that big. That’s why I decided to focus on smaller laser engravers after testing the TwoTrees TTS.
  5. I filmed this video last year, but I thought some of you might still find it interesting! This is the TwoTrees TTS-20PRO laser engraver that I borrowed from a friend to test. Since more and more people were asking for patterns with laser cutting file formats, I just had to give it a try! After these tests, I ended up buying my own xTool M1 — so I guess another video about that one is coming soon!
  6. Yes, the cat version will definitely be available, but a little later, since I have a hand injury and can’t hold a needle right now 😏. Once my hand heals, I’ll finally continue this series of bags with animals peeking out of purses and backpacks But I do have other cats 😺 You can find all my cat designs here: https://leatherpatternts.com/product-category/beginner-leather-patterns/https://leatherpatternts.com/product-tag/cat/
  7. Thank you! Yes, I also have a shop on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/LeatherPatternTS
  8. Thank you for the warm welcome 😊
  9. Hi! I’m Olena, a leather designer who enjoys creating a bit unusual patterns. I love animals, so you’ll often see them in my work 🐾, but I also get inspired by steampunk and fantasy ideas. I share my projects on leatherpatternts.com and make video tutorials for each pattern on my YouTube channel.
