Been doing leather for years but as always, I find that learning something new or sharing is always just around the corner.
My primary interest is in Old West holsters, gun belts, etc. A gent by the name of Frank Boyer who was at the time a quality control manager at Bianchi Gunleather and curator for the Bianchi Old West Museum in Temecula California got me going. During my 15 year time with Frank he basically taught me most of what I know on the subject and lit the fire that started me in making replicas of the real old west rigs. As many of you, I'm nearing retirement and intend on continuing making rigs as a supplemental to my retirement. Might as well make some money doing what I enjoy, yes?
I was a reeenactor for years in the early 80's and have studied the life of Bat Masterson for well over 40 years. I'm the Senior Ranger at Mission Trails Regaionl Park in San Diego and occasionally do the life of Bat for schools and orgainzations here in San Diego. My wife and I go to Tombstone every year as Bat and Emma Masterson.
Looking forward to listening and learning from you folks.
