  1. Heck Sylvia, I don't know about a mentor but we can always get together and talk about what we want to learn and how to fix our mistakes! You can email me directly if you like at nanci@shasta.com

    Thanks for the welcome!

    HI Nanci:

Nice to meet ya! I'm originally from the I-5 Corridor about 99 miles north of Cali. :o) I just might take you up on that offer of tutelage. Lord knows I can always use a friend and mentor.

    Sylvia

  2. Hi Everyone!

It's been a few years since I registered on this forum and have not visited in at least a year....shame on me. :head_hurts_kr:I'm located in Montague, CA Just below Oregon on I-5. I have a business called Ace High Leathers; www.acehighleathers.com which specializes in motorcycle and equestrian products. I'm a "one man band" and am basically self taught. I'm willing to share any techniques which I learned or taught myself, just give me a holler.:clapping:

I'm looking forward to learning more techniques and admiring your awesome  work as well.

    Best Regards,

    Nanci Rogers

Hello to you from the US in the most northern part of the state of California. I also work on motorcycle stuff and actually specialize in it. I have done quite a few bike seats and some chopper seats as well. I recently got into adding a fantastic insert to seats which have really become popular. The company is called Pro Pad and what they sell is a dry polymer gel type insert that is also used in the medical industry. If you have any questions regarding seats or any kind of accessory for the motorcycle world let me know, I think I've made just about anything a biker could use!

    regards

  4. I was lucky to get authorized as a Pro Pad dealer and since then I've been getting the word out about this great product. It's hard to find to many motorcyclists who can brag about their seats and how comfortable they are. In the beginning I started reworking my own seat, my husband's seat and anyone who would trust me enough to let me have at it.

Now the word is out in my local motorcycle community. I'm including two recent photos of seats that I have installed Pro Pad inserts in and recovered/redesigned using leather & sting ray and leather & vinyl. One guy had me push him forward on his seat as he is "vertically challenged" and another one I pushed back as he was having issues with pressure points. He put it this way "if I were a girl I wouldn't have this problem" :head_hurts_kr:The fun part came with the customers coming to my shop and watching me carve and reshape the foam. It allowed them a chance to work with me and pin point just how they wanted the seat to look and feel.

Once on their bikes I got great reports! :You_Rock_Emoticon: Life is much better for them now! Nanci - Ace High Leathers

  5. You're certainly on your way right passed the beginner stage! Very nice work. I specialize in motorcycles and have found that by and large, the natural veg tanned is up and coming. Seems like people really want to bring color into their apparel and their bikes. As for the western world, I've found that it's the opposite. Either way it brings about lots of possibilities. Ride safe,
