  1. Plain Ol Bill, sounds like a good Idea. My concho will sit high near the mouth of the sheath. I could run a strip of skived 4/5 oz across the concho screw and have it double as bevel for my welt. Thanks, ashlyngr
  2. Sorry, I should have mentioned that I would like to add a concho to the front of my sheath. I'm thinking of a lining to protect the blade from the concho screw. I have placed a Texas Star conchos on other leather rigs. Guns of The Old West Magazine did a story on Geronimo's holster. Although his was fully adorned, a singulair concho on my knife sheath coordinate with my other pieces. Thanks Again, ashlyngr
  3. Hello, I bought a nice Knife for my cowboy getup and need advice on if I should use a lining material in the sheath, and if so what to use if I should? The sheath that came with the knife isn't as heavy for the knife as I would like, and I want to do away with the snap for period authenticity Thanks in advance, ashlyngr
  4. I'm getting ready to make my first Knife Sheath. I'm making a sandwich style and not a folded style. My front, welt, and back layers of leather will be approximately 3/4" thick. Has anyone used a dremel drill press or table top drill press with good results? I haven't attempted to pierce leather that thick with a standard or sewing awl. Thanks, ashlyngr
  5. Hello, I'm new to the forum. I'm troubled to hear about the problems with the Tippman Boss. As a first machine used for Cowboy Holsters and Goods, I would want a mechanical stitcher. If not the Boss, what else is there? Thanks, ashlyngr
