  1. thanks so much! this info. is great and that video is incredible.
  2. thanks guys! i would like to do it myself although i might need that link depending on the end result What is nappa leather exactly? I tried using some thin suede (not sure what kind exactly) and in terms of creating a nice tight fit it was great! It tore through the stitch holes as I was stitching. All the heavier leather I have wont hug the shape tightly - I get bulges and folds around the bends. thanks again!
  3. I have an old artisan tool chest that I am trying to restore. The trickiest part is the handle. Leather had been stitched around the handle like this... http://www.gerstnerusa.com/images/hardware/part-1020.jpg ...but has now completely dried out and cracked off. I want to stitch a replacement similar to the one in the picture. Does anyone know where I could find a how-to for something like this? Do any of the Al Stohlman Making Leather Cases cover handles like this? thanks!
  4. I am wondering what the difference is between a "Common Edger Tools" and the "Edger"? https://www.osborneleathertools.com/product_details.php?pid=193 https://www.osborneleathertools.com/product_details.php?pid=194 thanks!
  5. Hi, I am a novice leather worker but have done a lot of different project over the years - just never anything too involved. I made an over-the-shoulder style carrying bag out of some very nice thick leather I bought from a muzzleloading store. It was a gift and the bag hung on the side of the waist. Unfortunately it began to stain the clothing. So my question first is: Now that the bag is made is there anything I can do prevent the bag from staining? And second: When buying leather how do you tell what will stain and what wont? Any info. would be appreciated thanks!
