  • How did you find leatherworker.net?

  1. I have done a few armgaurds. Started with those to see how the leather worked. I have changed the way the sheath sits on the back, the handle sits at the bottom now. I like it on the back, its a really big knife and I like not having it on my belt, but don't want it on the outside covering up the beautiful leather and clean look. I will get more pic's of changes soon, but here are the two arm gaurds I made before I started the quiver.
  2. Long time looker, First time posting here. I have done simply leather work for some time and lately I have taken the time to make myself something nice for hunting. I am a big archery hunter so I made my first back quiver for my traditional bows. Its made from 8 to 9 oz veggie tanned leather. I don't have many tools for this heavy leather but I am buying them slowly. I put alot of thought into this quiver. I thought about fancy but this is a quiver I will use all most every weekend, so the way it would hang on my shoulder was a big deal. Then I wanted a certian knife on it too but it had to be detachable and it all had to be simple and quiet. After putting a new handle on the knife I started the sheath for the knife. FYI the knife is 15" OAL. This is the biggest leather project I have done and the first project that I have actually went and bought leather ,dye, the barb wire stamp just to do this. Even was a secert from the wife til I was almost done.(that way I didn't get in trouble for buying the big double shoulder leather, she never goes into my man cave) I really got into this project, first time not peiceing together to make a project. Pic's are not the greatest but you get the basic picture. I took it out yesterday for the first trip of shooting, made a small change to the knife sheath so I need to get pic's of the change but over all it worked perfectly. Need to oil it up to soften but don't know what I want to use,,,,mink oil? Tell me what you think, always looking for help to improve my work. Brent
