  1. Ok right before the holidays someone was looking for a Tandy Leather Briefcase kit. The Holidays and a family death cought me, I can not remember who was looking for it. If they still wqant one please contact me. Regg dscr911@yahoo.com
  2. Ok, I just finished work on a saddle, thanks for your help in an earlier question. My question now is what to charge? I replaced two stirrup straps 21/2 inch wide, made two new fenders, replaces all hardware, cleaned and reconditioned the saddle and touched up some worn stitching. I was thinking of charging $450.00-$500.00. Is this in the ball park, I want to be fair but do not want to be ripped off. I do not know af any saddle or tach shops in my area, and have been getting some inquires into saddle repair, this was my fist one, As soon as I can I will post some pics. Any help appreciated. REG

  4. Ok, first off I know nothing about saddles. I do small leather craft items and some holsters. I have been contacted by a person to replace the fenders on his wifes saddle. The patterns she wants on them is straight forward. However I do have a few questions: 1-Are there any rules for the construction of the fenders? 2-Do they need to be lined or covered? 3-What weight leather to use? 4-What is the best finish to use? any other advice you experts want to share will be greatly appreciated. 5. Thanks for all the great information, I was able to talk her out of using the deer skin to line the holster and going with an unlined holster, the possibility of the leather '"grabbing" the gun was very upsetting to her since it is for her husband who is an undercover cop. When i finish the holster i will post some pictures. Regg
  6. I have made a couple of holsters, all unlined. I have a person who wants me to make her a holster for a glock model #23 which has a blued finish. she has given me some deer skin and wants the hoslter lined with the deer skin. My question is will deer skin harm the guns finish or is it okl to use as a holster linning. thanks for your time and help in this matter. Regg
  7. I have been contacted by a fire department to make some miniture leather fire helments to give out as awards. Does anyone have any patterns or suggestions on how to make a minuture fire helmet. This is the first of what I am sure will be many questions from me. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Introduction

I am Robert from Chesterfield, Virginia, just south of Richmond, Virginia. I was first introduced into leather craft at the age of 11 while in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound. I have dabbled in leather every since, mostly craft stuff (pocket books, wallets. belts etc). I have made come custom items for local fire/ems and police departments. I have made custom holsters and rifle slings for the local police department. I like to carve, but do not think my carving is too great. I look forward to learning from all the knowledge that is part of this site. So hello, from Virginia.
