naw it isnt any kind of hames that I have seen or can imagine. I've shown it to several several older men who drove mules and horses all their lives. Maybe some type hames from somewhere else but not native I don't believe. I titled some of the pics with the measurements where I could from another country....hmm that is the best description I have heard. That is gonna send me on a search, lol. "Billy Cook saddles are over rated espically the new ones" I could not agree more (just didn't want to be offensive). I am gonna remove the buckles and look for the stamp. Thanks guys for your reply and again be cautious about this as I will be now. Nothing short of being stepped on hurts worse than a saddle breaking and you hitting the ground without notice !!!!

I got this from a friend who had it hanging on his wall. I know a lot about harness but haven't a clue as to what this is. Any ideas are welcome

My girlfriend's grandfather was one of the best cowboys in this or any other part of the country. Her uncle found this old saddle of his and gave it to her brother. I was honored when he asked me to rebuild it for him. I think it is an old association tree and I stripped it down leaving only the gullet. I have the front jockey, back jockey, seat and fenders that came off the saddle that will be reused when it's ready. Ant tips on matching the color of the old leather with the new would be greatly appreciated.

they look just like every other buckle I've seen, but the pins are pressed in and I don't know if it was a bad batch or what the deal was. It really surprised me that Cook saddlery used them but I'm sure they looked good to them too.

I have a new Billy Cook Saddle pictured in the first photo. A colt blew up with me and as I gathering him, the Blevens Buckle broke ! I included pictures of both sides. the right side both "pins" broke out and on the left I found that I could pull the pins out with little or no effort. Has anyone else had this problem ? I haven't removed the broken one yet so I'm not sure if it is stamped with the Blevens buckle name. Do they make a cheap buckle in the same style as Blevens ? Check yours because as we all know it hurts when you hit the ground due to a break in your saddle.

Thanks for your comment, I was told that it was a back band for an oxen but I do not think they use back bands when they work oxen. You are right though, I have seen weird stuff from other countries. That is true it could be a dog harness part. Thanks for your comment and sorry I replied in the wrong spot lol

I have a piece of harness I guess . I don't know what it is, can anyone help me find out what this piece is ? It is made with leather on it. I took pics of it from different angles if anyone needs a different view please let me know. Thanks
