I'm looking into building snowshoes. everything looks good till I get to the part of sourcing the rawhide lace. Seems the cheapest I can find is too expensive. I'm sure I can find green hides for cheap in the area. Can anybody fill me in on how to transform these hides into a usable product? I'm a complete newbie at leather working so I'm really in the dark here. TIA
