This belt is one of my first mixed media projects. It is a standard, Tandy, 1.5" belt blank that I took a gouge to while the leather was wet. I laid down 3mm elwire into the groove and worked my way down the belt with a needle nose pliers, a bag of a thousand capacitors from Radio Shack and bound all the wire down. The belt glows blue when power from two AA batteries and an inverter are applied. The link to the video of it in action is located .

@BuudhaRich I made two of these belts for a benefit. They are dear projects and I was pretty happy with them at the time that I finished it. It's not as impressive now that I'm a year beyond it. There is always coulda-shoulda's that you wanted to do with a project afterward.

  6. Hello there! Good to see "Minnesota" listed for a location of someone else. Yeah, I have a few pictures up later today but my current project is still in multiple pieces. Thanks for the warm reply.
  7. Where do you come up with the brass gears and cogs that you use? They are perfect for a lot of different projects.

  9. Hello Everyone, My name is Rich and I got into leathercraft when I had to put together a costume for a Memorial weekend Pirate Party. You can guess what the theme may have been. :-) I made a basic kidney belt and adjusted a cheap sword frog that I bought online to fit the blade that I had. Four years later, I'm still crafting things and doing some mixed-media projects that pull together leather and electro-luminescent wire (elwire). The forums are pretty useful since I discovered them this morning and I look forward to carrying conversation forward. My webpage with a galley of my stuff is included in my profile. Nothing too fancy there either. :-) Best, Rich
