Im looking to buy a new Adler machine, any suggestions on where to look? I own a rebuilt Adler 205-374 and Ive had it for years, so many things need replacing so Im gonna make the plunge...purchased my old one from Boogle - Greenwell (rebuilds)

I have a 200 spacer and I am using a NM 200 size 25 needle with #207 nylon thread top and bottom...needle is inserted correct. I am thinking the needle jamming might have moved the hook. It looks like the eye of the needle is slightly lower when it meets the hook, I have never timed a machine, watched some youtube videos. Not many people in my area work on these machines. I would assume a special timing gauge is needed...is timing a machine something that can be learned step by step?

I ve cleaned everything out , its threaded properly...when I watch the stitching cycle it looks like the loop doesnt open enough for the hook to catch it, Ive adjusted the tension and it just doesnt look like its creating that loop. checked the shuttle point and with a thin piece of leather going slow it grabs the loop but any kind of speed and thickness of leather it doesnt seem to make that loop.

374 Ive tried many different needles and they're all doing the same thing...they sew a few stitches and then pick up nothing.

I had a needle pull out and jam while sewing on my Adler, replaced needle and now it wont pick up any stitches...I hear a slight almost seems like a rubbing when I slowly turn the wheel and lower the needle down.

I tried the smaller thread on the bottom...still skips, I do think its the needle also, Im ordering a smaller needle to see if that helps. The needle as I watch it move in the bobbin case seems to now hit something just as it is coming up below the plate???

I am sewing with an adler 205, it has been working great but lately I have had uneven tension with the top stitch occasionally showing on the back side, also skipped stitches. I am using a NM:230 size 26 needle with 277 thread...I just changed from a size 25 needle is this my problem?

Hi again, Will a sew pro 500 GR be compatible for my machine? The numbers are 205-374. I would like to purchase one if it will work, also how do I measure for the right belt?

I apologize for not knowing much about the different motors, the servo motor, is this a motor that completly replaces the current motor, or is it an extension added to the current motor?quote name='Wizcrafts' timestamp='1301978332' post='194153'] I second what JimBob told you about the SewPro motor. I bought mine from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines and it is a God send. I used to hand wheel around belt and strap tips, with my well adjusted clutch motor. Now, I use the servo motor to sew at 1 stitch every other second, guiding the work with two hands. BTW: The SewPro 500GR from Bob Kovar has a 2 inch pulley. This really slows down the maximum speed, while multiplying the torque. My hot-rodded walking foot machine is now capable of sewing 1/2 inch of leather, at slow controllable speeds, without slippage, thanks to that little servo motor.

I purchased a used Adler 205 Stitching machine, but it is so fast, I asked what to do from the seller, he said I just need to get used to the pedal, but it is either stopped or in high speed. Is there a way to slow it down?

I make horse tack,(halters, headstalls,breast collars...no saddles) I need a machine that sews tight uniform stitches. I get so many different opinions, very understandable, but now I'm really confused. I am using a ferdco 440R now, does not give me the uniform, tight stitch I need. Tried a Randal yesterday, sews exactly the perfect stitch I want, but so big and complex, not sure if I would understand all that is needed if I would ever have any problems. Is there a machine that does what I need that is user friendly?
