The articulated lid looks great. I haven't seen something like that before.

[Maple Leaf Fan]

They vary in size from 12 x12 to 14 x 16. They put out more wind than a paper fan or an average sized Asian folding fan. They are intended for real use. This maple fan will not be dyed. Most of my maple leaf fans are/will be dyed to resemble a turning leaf like my prototype here.

The wood core and the slight 'cupping' of the leather makes it pretty rigid, so it grabs a lot of air as you wave it.

These pics were taken with my phone, so the colors aren't quite as good as they are when seen live. Most of the embossing on the one that isn't dyed doesn't show up well in the pic. Once my mother comes down to show me how to set up my sewing machine, the stitching will not be zigging and zagging all over the place.

This fan has a wooden core for support. It has been lightly wet-formed to simulate contours of a leaf.
