Sold for $175 in the live auction last night. :D

Been awhile since I posted here, but I just had to post this one. This is a holster I made and donated to the local Friends of the NRA, to auction off at their annual banquet. 3 pieces of 7/8oz leather, with a python inlay between the front two layers. And before anyone critiques the stitching being so far out from the gun, it was necessary due to the thicknes of the leather. I barely got the gun into it for molding as it was. Lol. Honestly, it was hard to let this one go. By far my favorite one I've made.

Thank! I appreciate the input and I definitely agree about making the frame wider. I'm always happy to get some good advice from a seasoned leather worker.

I decided to try my hand at inlaying python. What do you guys think?

Actually, most of those issues are just the angle of the picture. There is a good bit of room between the grip and the holster, and the slide shield does cover the rear of the pistol. The reinforcement was something that was specifically asked for, and in my experience it's a good idea. It really does help with re-holstering. The hardware is all in a position that it can be disassembled for dyeing. I put it together temporarily to get an idea of how it will look and to take a picture. As for the belt loops, they are kind of large, and I think I will shorten them a bit on the next one. Thanks for pointing that out.

I went into the local gun shop the other day and while I was talking to the owner, I mentioned my holsters that I was making. Long story short, he wants a few in his shop. He even loaned me his blue guns to make some. I made this one yesterday, but I'm having trouble deciding on a color for it. I've got to put in an order here soon, so any colors are an option. Here's the holster, and while it's up here anyway, critique away.

It's actually very stable. I didn't add enough room in front of the trigger guard when I made the pattern. It doesn't go in as far as I'd like, but it is functional.

That's pretty much just a surface mark. Gives it a little more detail. It doesn't push down into the trigger guard at all.

Well, I've made a few holsters so far, and each one keeps getting better. My Dad wanted one for his Beretta .25, so I made that for him today. I had a few minor issues, but everything worked out to make a decent holster. This is just a basic, nothing fancy OWB holster. He just wanted something comfortable to hold his little mouse gun. lol. At this point I'm still learning, so some critiquing is more than welcome. It's not near as light colored as it looks in the photos, though.
