I am 22 years old, from NSW Australia. I live in a place called "Lemon Tree Passage", it's nice but isolated so I need a new hobbie.
I am pretty new to leather work. All I have made so far is a dog collar because my mum could not find a collar big enough to fit our dog.
I have made some horse halters from PVC
I would like to learn to make these in leather as well as other tack. I want to learn to stitch leather so it can have a more desired finish.
I was thinking of getting a hand stitching kit to get me started as well as a few additional tools. I will only be working with pre cut strips at this time.
I do eventually want to get in to cutting my own leather for more unique tack.
On my website I mainly make ribbon browbands and would like to expand in to tack making! as well as making my own leather browbands
I already have a tack pattern set i bought a few years back and have never used. I was thinking about buying cheap horse leather to practice with.
I would also eventually like to make medieval tack and leather horse face plates. I have patterns for the medieval horse costumes so making a whole set would be wonderful.
Any advise is helpful! I don't really have a clue what I am doing
