  1. Not sure what small gear your talking about. (not even sure what that is, lol) Not sure what the slot is, but I have tried setting that curvy thing on the bottome everwhere and nothing works. I feel like something must be missing. Thank You, for any help you can give me.
  2. I bought a new rotating hook (B1830-863-BAO) it is made for my Juki 563 to use heavier thread. I followed manuel instructions for putting in the rotating hook, but now that it is in my needle is not catching the bobbin thread at all. I have no idea what I did wrong, but it has officially drove me crazy. I would appreciate any help!!! Maybe I will try taking a picture and someone will be able to see what is wrong. 3. I bought a Juki 563 and slowed it down with a servo motor, I also bought a new rotary hook,it is supposed to let me use heavy thread. When I asked the retailer what size thread I could use with it this is his answer: The rotary hook that you bought is for the heavy thread and you can use thread size 69, 92 or even 138. Recommended needle size for these thread are sizes 20, 22 and 24. I was hoping to get up to: 207 or 277 thread, so my question would be has anyone set up a Juki 563 for heavier thread and could you please tell me the needle to use and the equipment needed. Any advise would be appreciated!!!! Help!
  4. Wow, great info guys, I ended up with the Juki and have to slow down the motor I am either going to get a servo or get my dad to change the wheel size on the motor. (any advise?) I would love to save money of course! Can you tell me more about using the heavy thread and what I need to get? What size thread will the Juki part hold,do I use same thread in machine as bobbin? Thank You for any info!
  5. I am buying my first leather sewing machine, I am on a budget so I have to get what I can afford. I am sewing 2 layers of about 7oz leather for tack. My choice at this time are the: Juki 563 or the Singer 132k6 the Singer is a little more and the Juki is local pick-up, I am torn on what to do, since I really have no experience with these machines. Any advise would help.
  6. Thank You Art, Can I stain the leather first and where do I find Pitchblend paste, I have never seen that. Thank You. EJ
  7. I am making headstalls and breastcollars and need to use veg-tan leather. I actually use the ruff side of the veg-tan as the front and am using the smooth backside against the horse. (Yes, I am a newbie, lol) I was wondering what I could do to make it more water resistant, I am using Olive-oil, but am wondering if something else would be better and if I can color or dye it. I am not sewing the leather I am using 12oz herman oak veg tan since I do not have a sewing machine. Help.........
