While I'm fairly new at this most advice I've seen here and from people like Bianchi is not to worry about wrapping your handgun in plastic to wet form the holster or knife. I just make sure my handgun is lightly lubricated as it would be for storage, wet form, remove and wipe down with oil again. I've only made 20 or so wet formed items , but I've suffered no after rust on anything and I don't own anything but blued guns.

Been away from the computer for a bit, sewing the front is a very interesting method, thank you for the photo. Hopefully it won't upset you if I try one like that?

Red- I've had trouble with previous attempts without the welt, front sight abrading the holster, can you show me an example? I tried to re-create the sight channel from an old Safariland holster. I only started this a few months ago and it's been a bit of a struggle trying to improve, teaching myself.

Very nicely done. Love the buffalo. How does it compare to cowhide in forming sewing etc?
