Hello,
I'm a woodworker that's interested in making some custom items for my truck and tool storage. I believed the technique I'm interested in is called buckstitching, like a baseball glove. Ultimately I'd like to recover the bench seat in my truck and make custom tool pouches that affix to the rear of the seat and back wall of the cab so that when I fold the seat forward all of my tools are easily accessible. It need not be the fanciest job but my tired seat needs some love and I'd really like it if my tools didn't bang together sitting on the floor of the cab. These are heavy striking tools like axes.
What kind of leather for upholstery?
For built in tool storage?
To hold the weight on the back of the seat?
What books should I buy to learn this?
What tools do I need?
Thanks for your help!
