Lu-563 missing parts identification
James 1945 replied to James 1945's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Does anyone know of a checklist anywhere on Leatherworker that details the stuff I should check before operation? Got this from @KGG, including it here for completeness, thanks KGG! “The max thread size spec for this machine is V138. Remember the needle system for this machine is 135 x17 x "# size" for fabric and 135 x 16 x "# size" for leather.” I’d love to have a copy of the service manual too. I did a bit of searching, but I only found the operator’s manual. I have a lot of other things on the go, so I probably won’t have it up and running before spring. Regardless, I’d like to know what to check so that I can start sourcing needed parts. TIA, James -
Lu-563 missing parts identification

Well, I bought it, $150. Turns out, the only big part missing is the connector rod for the knee lift! It looks like pic 1 was only meant to show that the BOLT was missing. All parts are present. Turns really, not much paint rubbed off, no rust. I’ll get the replacement bolt and see what happens! Thanks for all the help, James -

Here are all the photos provided. Paint shows some wear, but not terrible. Clutch motor. I’ll check out that part # you referenced. Can you think why someone would remove that part? Maybe they took it apart for some reason and then reassembled incorrectly? I’ve got an appointment to see it in the next two weeks, maybe that will bring me information. Head shake. James -
Lu-563 missing parts identification

Ok, I figured out some of the stuff. Pic #2 is missing the rod that goes down to connect to the knee lift. Done. Pic #1 is still giving me some trouble though. It appears to be part of the walking foot mechanism, but the pic attached here from the manual shows that there should be a plate coming down from the horizontal rod which attaches to the rod coming out of the body. Pic #1 shows no such bar. It looks like the rod coming out of the body attaches directly to the horizontal rod?? I can't find any LU-563 pics online with this configuration. Ideas? James -
Hello all, I’m looking at picking up a machine for pretty cheap but it’s missing a few parts that I can’t identify. I spent some time looking at the manual and pictures online, but I still can’t quite figure out what I’m looking at. Of course, the next question is how much and where could I get these parts? The seller is asking about 200 bucks for the machine, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. I’m located in Ontario if that’s important. TIA, James
