Hi all, I got my hands on some chrome tanned leather straps which I intend to use for dog leads. I usually use Veg tanned harness leather, however I have this amazingly soft but strong chrome leather lead from Germany and was keen to try some myself. The problem is the stuff I have is no where near as soft as the lead from germany. I was wondering how do I soften this leather. Is it the leather itself (tanning process) or do I need to do something to it to get it soft?
