  1. Hello all, here are some pics of my first project and entrance into the world of leatherworking. I have made a lot of mistakes on this but will keep it anyways. I had a kukri that I ordered from an online seller (these are handmade in Nepal) as a commemorative piece but the engraving was so bad I couldn't hang it on the wall. I had ordered others from the same company previously, and haven't ordered one since. Anyhow, I decided it would be a great camp knife and started on some modifications to it to personalize it. The sheath that came with it was horrible, and that is what brings me here. So after many youtube videos and some bourbon, this is what I came up with

The flap that comes over keeps the knife in the sheath, although friction seems to be doing well right now.

Close up of the design I came up with. Inspiration was "That which keeps evil at bay." Also, I was enjoying some bourbon when I got inspired. A lot of bourbon.

Here's the Kukri I have. I had bought it through one of those online deals as a commemorative thing, but the engraving was so bad I couldn't hang it on the wall.
  5. Hello All, my name is Chris and I'm just getting started with leatherworking. The main reason I got started is that I've been looking for sheaths, holsters, or belts, but cannot seem to find one that looks exactly like I want. There are some amazing custom products out there, but I had always thought they were too expensive. Now that I've started a project of my own, I can understand the expense. However, nothing beats the satisfaction of making something with my own hands, and now I can look at other leatherwork with some small understanding of how it was made. I am looking forward to learning a lot from all the people here and joining a great community.
