  1. yeah. I use an old book called "the sioux method". tiny little thing, but given what it was derived from, mammals were the only topic covered. I'm hoping that the "every animal has enough brains to tan its own hide" rule applies and works. If it does, I think the one concession I would have to make would be to tan it like a fur as opposed to a hide. I'd have to get a detailed look at the chemical processes I guess. Thanks for the help. gonna keep digging, see what turns up.
  2. Does this work with shark, rays, fish, or reptiles? I know it's great for mammal hides and it's rather labor intensive but I love the results I get. I just don't know if it will work for things outside of mammals since the their brains and hides have a somewhat different composition than mammals.
