I want to make lightweight handbags like you would see in department stores, using thin leather and fabric linings. I can run 68 on my cobra but the needle diameter is too big so the holes are very noticeable in the seems. I hope that answers your question. Thanks so much for your reply.

Hello! About 6 months ago I purchased a Cobra 4 which I love and works great for making holsters. However, it didn't take me long to figure out it was too big for making handbags. The needle makes a hole too large for handbags and I don't like the look. I then realized I needed a different machine that takes a smaller needle. I have been looking at the Consew 206 rb and Cobra 17. However, I don't want to purchase another machine that may not do what I want it to do. If all I wanted was to make leather handbags with 2-4 oz leather what would you recommend? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you for you time.

Disregard...I fixed it. My needle was in wrong....

I am at a loss again. I was working with 277 thread and a 25 needle and my cobra was doing fine. I switched to 138 thread and 23 needle and the needle is shredding my thread. I think I purchased a machine over my skill level. Anyone know why it is doing this and how I can fix it? Thank you!!

Greg, You are correct. Steve had it package and ready to ship before I called this morning. I had sent an email with pictures to Steve on Sunday and he was on it first thing this morning. I bought the Cobra because of all the positive feedback about it and Steve on this website so I was very confident he would get it fixed for me. Can't wait to start using it!!

Trox, After hours of looking where everything leads too, I figured it out. The part where the screw goes on the shaft that runs the outside walking foot was broke. Must have had a crack in it and as soon as I ran my first test stickers it broke. Thanks for the reply. I'll attach a photo I case I didn't explain it well.

Thanks! It does not move up and down. It did for about 10 stitches while I was adjusting tension then it just stopped. Any idea why by chance?

I received my new Cobra 4 yesterday. I was playing with the tension getting it set when the outside walking foot stopped moving. The inside works like it is suppose to. Being Saturday, I can't call Steve. Anyone know why it's doing this and how I can fix it? I'm extremely new to these types of machines.
