Thanks again.. The dye,I bought off the net and is a touch up/colour restorer so I'm guessing that's a solvent based one. I have a top quality leather grease so would that be as good as your suggestions? The glue I have is fiebing's tanners bond. It's not the spray but I'm sure I can get round that for now. Thanks again for your constructive advice, mark

Thank you electrathon.. I was going to just glue them and not sew them at all.. These are only tiny, like 3"x1" (inch) max.? I'm a novice to adding snakeskin but have made my own leather furniture for years. And about the dye??

Hi all. I've just joined the forum after scratching my head for a few days on the best way to go about making the above.i have some lovely snake skin and Roo leather and wanted to start making snake skin anklets but was wondering the best way to go about it. I have all the gear to do this, dye, cement, hole punches and craft knife set. My question is,is it better to glue the skin to the leather first or cut the leather and skin to size then glue it afterwards? I've not even tried to cut the skin yet so I don't know if it will cut and punch as well as the leather does? Also I have died part of the skin with black dye and it looks good but will I have to treat it with anything else (I,e oil or anything) or will it be fine as it is? As far as I know it has been treated before I died it as it is supple and strong. Thanks in advance for any help, bone.!!
